IN SOUTHERN ITALY A TASTY CAVE

In the Apulian town of Polignano a mare, beauty meets good food while fresh fish is king of the table. In a magical, unique, enchanted place stands a restaurant with a terrace carved out of a natural cave. It is called "Grotta Palazzese Restaurant" and is named after the cave of the same name and the place that was once also called "Palace Cave." It is an exclusive and atmospheric place, used for parties and banquets since the 1700s, as evidenced by a 1783 watercolor by Jean Louis Desprez.

The blue of the sea and sky contrasts with the mysterious atmosphere of the natural cavities. The colors of the day make the beauty of the coastal landscape shine, while those of the evening, at sunset, create unforgettable hues, in the charm and elegance of the restaurant‘s lights.

Within a truly unique summer setting at Grotta Palazzese you eat inside a natural cave overlooking the sea in a truly priceless atmosphere. On the gastronomic front: three tasting menus (including a vegetarian one), otherwise you can opt for a la carte menus from which you can choose three courses for €190 or four courses for €230. Appetizers include seafood crudo, king crab with black rice and yuzu gel or Iberian suckling pig pluma with Jerusalem artichoke cream and chips. We continue with paccheri cacio e pepe di Sichuan and red shrimp tartare, burrata ravioli, yellow date sauce, broccoli and fillet of scottona, lemon risotto, stracciatella di burrata, licorice powder and langoustine crudo. Or sea bass darna in panko bread crust and leek puree or beef tenderloin Wellington style with Prugnoli mushrooms.

It is not only known for the beauty and uniqueness of the rock in which it is set. The cuisine, in fact, is the ideal one for all those who are looking for exclusivity and refinement.

The dishes are always carefully prepared in every aspect, with the utmost attention paid to the quality of ingredients and the harmony of ‘Visual Food‘. They are largely based on foods and foods belonging to the Apulian culinary tradition, with the addition of aromas, spices and fragrances for greater refinement of the dishes.
